This Privacy Policy explains how Teemate ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares your information when you use the Teemate app and website. By using Teemate you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, username, display name, country, and optionally your home club and starting handicap.
Content you create. Rounds and scorecards you log (including photos of scorecards you scan), photos and videos you post, stories, comments, likes, club memberships and messages.
Usage information. Basic technical data such as device type and app interactions, used to keep the service working and secure.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account; to show your rounds, profile and activity to you and (where you choose) to other users; to calculate your Teemate handicap from the rounds you log; to enable social features like patrons, clubs, competitions and messaging; to read scorecards you choose to scan; and to keep Teemate safe and reliable.

3. Scorecard scanning & AI

If you scan a scorecard, the photo is sent to our AI provider solely to extract the scores and course details and return them to you. The photo is not used to train third-party models.

4. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Content you post is visible according to your privacy setting (public or private). We use trusted infrastructure providers (such as Supabase for database, authentication and file storage, and our AI provider for scorecard reading) who process data on our behalf. We may disclose information if required by law.

5. Data storage & retention

Your data is stored with our cloud provider and retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, rounds, posts, media, comments, messages and club memberships are permanently removed (see "Your rights" below).

6. Your rights

You can access and edit your profile information at any time in Settings → Edit profile. You can make your account private, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Delete account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability); contact us to exercise them.

7. Account deletion

To delete your account, open Settings and tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently removes your account and your data from Teemate and cannot be undone. You can also email us at privacy@teemate.app to request deletion.

8. Children

Teemate is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, authentication and row-level access controls to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
